Challenges

The project posed several unique challenges:

  • VAT-Advantaged User Pricing: Ensuring reduced VAT rates (4%) for Iva Agevolata users purchasing eligible products, in compliance with Italian law.
  • Complex Discount Rules: Designing a multi-tiered discount system for different customer groups, including VAT-advantaged users, newsletter subscribers, and subscription-based shoppers.
  • Dynamic Free Shipping Rules: Managing free shipping for EU orders above €39.90, excluding UK and non-EU destinations.
  • User-Friendly Integration: Implementing these functionalities without complicating the user interface or disrupting the customer journey.

Goals

  1. Deliver a seamless shopping experience through simplified product pages, cart, and checkout processes.
  2. Implement advanced discount rules tailored to user roles and purchase history, including:
    • 10% discounts for first purchases and “Sign Up and Save” subscriptions.
    • 5% discounts for newsletter subscribers.
  3. Create a guided questionnaire to recommend products based on customer input.
  4. Enable dynamic VAT calculations for Iva Agevolata users.
  5. Build a scalable, maintainable system to support future growth.

Solution

To meet KediLife’s unique requirements, Edamame Agency developed a custom WooCommerce solution with the following features, seamlessly aligned with the project’s goals to deliver a streamlined and customer-focused platform:
